It took someone calling me out on an extremely offensive comment for me to rethink my ideas about feminism. The person calling me out was a man and even though I felt compeltely gutted in the moment it was a defining moment. It changed me and now I confidently call myself a feminist. Incidentally, I would also happily call him a feminist.

Can you imagine how pumped you'd be if this happened to you?

Afterwards, nothing would ever be able to match the intensity of that moment, and you'd turn to drink in a vain attempt to hide the numbness you feel from the humdrum experiences of day-to-day existence.

For the rest of your life, whenever you'd be sitting alone in a bar, having had too much to drink, again, it would be this event that you would tell random strangers about. Only they wouldn't believe you, as it's too fantastic. They'd walk away shaking their head in disgust, but probably feeling some sympathy for the crazy drunk guy with the bullshit stories, because he seemed nice enough.

It's a shame, because it did happen. It did.

I spent a few hours with Paxo when we were working on the Crystal Palace sequence for "the Victorians". Contrary to his image, he is a natural comedian, you can see that when you watch stuff like this. The pre-Mayor election TV debate was another classic.

Boris is like a sedated pantomime zoo animal, it fills me with fear that these sorts of people can end up in charge.
